Vlamingii tang with a convict tang.

I have a Red Sea Reefer 900 3XL 79x25x25, I rescued a sub adult vlamingii from living in a sump that someone dropped off at my LFS when I had a 90 gallon, and have upgraded to the reefer 900. I know these tangs get enormous and won't be able to live in this tank forever comfortably, but right now it is about 9-10 inches. He is a huge puppy dog, doesn't freak out over anything, likes to swim with my foxface and copperband. I want to get a convict tang to help clean the rocks as I know they are very non aggressive as well. My question is, do you think the vlamingii is going to attack the new fish?

New fish I have added are a lamarks angel, similar shape to a convict and it didn't even bat an eye at it. Held a mirror up to the tank to see if we would get any aggression and the vlamingii just took off and hid behind a rock hahaha.

Just wondering from experience how these fish are with other tangs, research shows they are pretty mellow all around.

You'd be unlucky to have a problem ime. All your research and knowledge is spot on so the only thing I'd add is that convicts aren't always the easiest tang to acclimate to aquarium life but if they do, they become pretty hardy.

My guess is that the tang will ignore it, I added a small (1.25") convict to a black naso 3" and same size scopas and a 2" yellow scopas and they basically ignored it as it was so small.

Thank you, just wanted a few opinions before I pulled the trigger.

Yeah I tend to over research and then come on here to get first hand experience/expertise . He will be introduced to the big sump first and try to get him feeding in peace and then if he eats well into the tank he goes. Thank you!
