I am new to all this. I set up tightvncserver on Raspberry Pi and the viewer on my PC. When i ran vncserver :1 on the pi it asks for a password. The issue is it will not allow you to enter anything. What am i missing?

Thanks. I have looked at tutorials on youtube and i got to the last part and it failed. Decided to use RealVNC and now it works great. Not sure if you will be able to get any help on this as I have never heard of tightvncserver and definitely not seen it in any of the reef-pi discussions. Have you done a search for it in the forum?
I use wire guard on my pi-hole so that I can also access my reef-pi from outside the house.
I think a few people use Tailscale for their remote access and it has been discussed in a few places on the forum.
Why have you chosen tightvncserver? Any advantages you know of?
Edit: just checked and this is the only mention of tightvncserver......so I doubt you will be able to get much help here. It's more of a raspberry pi issue than a reef-pi issue.
