Been dosing 1ML of vodka for a week in a 100 gal fish only tank to try to get nitrates under control...

No major difference in my skim.

Also did a 25 gal water change and I'm not seeing any positive results at all.. Is it possible my carbon that's in the sump is sucking it up?? I'm using Tito's.

The fish are happy though..

Ammonia, nitrites and phosphates all near "0"

I have a 20 Gal. Long and a 37 Gal. It took over 2 months for the nitrates to go down. But they are now pretty much zero. Its a slow process but it does work.

In an established tank, Ammonia and nitrites are not important. Phosphates and Nitrates are the best tests for gauging dissolved organic compounds. It is best to have some nutrients like po4 and no3.

1ml of vodka dosing isn't goin to make any changes, your going to be up there a bit before you see any changes. Every tank is different, but you'll be up around 10mls

Are you telling me to increase the does near 10mls?? that's huge when compared to the chart that was posted.

Not all at once. Try 2ml for a week or two and maybe increase by another 1ml after that.

BTW, ammonia and nitrites should be zero in your tank. If they're not, then you have an issue that needs to be addressed.

No. GAC will not absorb the small amount of ethanol out of seawater.

If nutrients are near zero, what are you hooping to see? It might drive them too low and make things worse.
