Vodka or NOPOX?? you choose

what do you think its better to reduce nitrates?
some friends are using vodka with good results, buy i had read that nopox its just vinegar and vodka.!
so i dont want to waste money in nopox if i can just buy some vodka.

i forgot something. i live in Costa Rica haha . so nopox isn't that easy to find it in here.. i have to buy it and import it to Costa Rica. that takes longer and takes more money.

lolol well i used racing fuel (methonal) for 2 years and switched to nopox, either way a large bottle of nopox witch cost about 20 bucks last me 3/4s of a year on a 200 gallon, leave the greygoose up to drinkin lol vinegar is prob your best bet if your having trouble getting nopox

Just grab the cheapest pure vodka you can find.. or use vinegar or both.

I only dose 6 ml on a 200 gallon nd on my current build im only dosing .5 as of now just just to keep a lil carbon for bacteria (seems to sound rite in my head lol) untill i get all my fish and get settled in, redsea asks to start 3 ml per 100lt witch i think is crazy, i would start off with .5 for every 400l and work your way up, methanol took me 6 months of dosing to get it right nd start seeing effects its something you have to take serious and slow, it really all comes down to your maitnence dose thats all, varys from tank to tank

Sounds about right, i was around 15 for a long time but i came down to 6 so i can do waterchanges when my nitrates rise to about 5to8ppm witch is around every 2 weeks
