We does VSV (mixture of vodka, sugar, vinegar) and have zoas in the tank. If anything they look better than before we started.

Nope mine grow and have awesome color have been dosing for at least a year. I wouldn't imagine a few random molecules of ethanol would affect anything. Its how its metabolized which makes ethanol deadly (our liver converts ethanol to acetealdehyde which is what actually affects us).

Don't know how polyps will take to that but I know a bunch of folks in RC are doing the buffered vita-C route... not my thing. works for others, some it doesn't or get bad results.

I have vit-c and used it as instructed. I didn't see any difference. From what I understand, it's just another carbon source like vodka or vinegar or sugar.

I had a tank pretty crash due to that... instructions followed. Lost a lot of coral 90% or so. LPS/SPS polyps and all. Some reported it help, some none, some like me.... horrible results. Made my alk go up the high 20s

due to what, Vodka? or Vit-C?

I use vodka and don't have any "ill" effects on the zoanthids in my tank. I have been using vodka for about 1.5 yrs.
