Here is a perfect example of why I added volt meters to my battery backups. One thing I wish Vortech would pay attention to.
Back up batteries are such an important part of your reef tank, or should be!
I never would have known the battery was going bad. I normally would test them once a week but only for 20/30 min. The battery would last fine and I’d be happy. Not knowing it’s slowly loosing power. Until...I lost power for a few hours and it stopped working.
Hence the reason for two backups and the volt meters. Now a simple $30 battery and 10 minutes of work my system will be protected again. Just something to think about. A simple $7 meter can go a long ways to save a few $1000 in fish and coral. Or in my case $237 in fish and coral.
