Just wondering what modes do you use?Do you switch modes on occasion?Just put one in my 60 cube right now i am trying out the TSM or Tidal Swell Mode.

i run my mp-10 in short pulse mode to create a wave in my tank.i think the wave is the best since it keeps the detritus suspended for the overflow to pick it up.

I have a single MP10 on my 40Br softy dominated tank, and it's mode is set to long pulse, about 1/2-3/4 power. It does change to "Night mode" for 12 hours from 7pm till 7am. I love that feature!

I may eventually get a second MP10 for the back half of the tank though I don't "need" it.

Just started to play around with the settings.Does the night mode come on automatically or do you need to do it nightly? Some of there instructions are vague.

You set it once. just set it at the time you want it to start and it will go to night mode every night at that time. Until the power goes out that is then you have to reprogram it again.......but it's not that hard to do..

run all of mine on reef crest right now- I'll probably use lagoon on the LPS/zoa tank though. I liked the wave modes, but felt that it was more powerful than I needed to have on at all times, even if I really enjoyed watching the wave

I have mine hooked up wirelessly to my Apex. It's great. I change programs every 2 hours to keep things as random as possible.

I was surprised at the wave i could generate in a 60 cube!! thought for a moment i was going to splash water over the front of the tank. The clowns run for cover in the RBTA when there are waves in the tank, not used to it.I will be curious on how the corals respond to the random flow.

On my new tank, a 200 DD, I'll be using 2 x mp40wES on Reef Crest, and then 2 x mp10wES on something else, maybe short pulse. The tank will be fish only for now, so I wanted to create some random flow for the fish, plus, keep the water circulated enough to try to prevent any algaes from resting and growing.

are you sure about that? i thought that got saved in memory also

Yup, thats correct. You'll need to reset the night mode. I haven't used it yet, but I did just read it in the manual very recently :)

I have my two MP10ESW's set to reef crest in my 60 gallon cube. I have them turned up a little past the half way mark. Any higher and it looks like they will rip the flesh off the frogspawns. The fish love the random flow and the tank is much more interesting to watch.

well dang thats retarded. i dont use the night feature, but surely it wouldnt of cost anything to keep the night setting

I have two MP10wES's set mostly on nutrient export (this varies the intensity of the wave motion). Some research that Dana Riddle did points to the wave motion doing a better job at keeping the boundary effect low with minimal energy. The boundary effect keeps the pH, temp, oxygen levels, etc. around the corals at a different level than the surrounding water. Temps tend to increase, pH and oxygen levels tend to lower at the coral due to the boundary effect, which is not good.

They Vortechs are great when paired up with the Apex- I have it change every once in a while from synch mode to antisynch to keep things stirred up, have them both run up to 100% when the autofeeder drops the pellets so that the fish have to chase their food, and it doesn't lose its settings when the power goes out!

Right now i am running mine on Nutrient Transport mode...but i occasionally switch it to Reef Crest and Lagoon modes just to change things up and have different flows.
