Wow I'm sorry for your lost. Outsiders do not understand how we feel about our tank mate's .
I do not have my wave maker pumps covered up but after seeing how u did yours now I see a way I will cover mine. Again so sorry

Sorry for your loss, I worry every night about my two clowns. They tend to stay/sleep right about my one wavemaker. After seeing how you covered yours I'll be doing that this weekend. What material is that made of?

Really sorry to hear. That’s why I don’t use power heads that have large open slots. I used a gyro max and was surprised how much force comes out. Mike clowns are always happy to see me And dread the day when something happens to them. Once again sorry for your loss

I have had fish get pinned to the side of my MP60, but they are usually fine. I did witness a small resplendent anthias get sucked into the pump one time and get shredded, but I don't use screens on the sides of mine. Not a pretty sight. Hard to see how as fish could swim into an operating vortech with screened sides. I'd guess it swam in while the pump was stopped.

Found one of my pair of golden headed sleeper gobies in an MP40 yesterday. :-/ Not sure how that even happens.

I came home from dinner tonight to a strange sound in my tank. Once I got close my heart dropped, my female davinci clown was spinning around inside my vortech. I have no idea how she swam in there must have been spooked, it is like losing a family member :(

Notice that you have guards around the power head...need something in front as well...some ph'ds are pretty well protected...

Sorry for your loss. I love my clowns as well. They are my babies. Hopefully she is in Clown Heaven now.

Don’t think they enter from the sides. And most time this happens is when the pumps are off. Anytime my mps go off I take a look inside before restarting. Also vortech sells sponge protectors for the MPs.

Maybe it was on pulse mode

sorry for your loss. I had a red fire shrimp loose most of it's limbs in my mp10 and had to be fed manually for weeks. It has fully recovered.

Sorry to hear about this freak accident. BTW, I like your protector around the vortech. Where did you buy them? I would like to take precaution that it does not happen.

plastic cross stitch mesh

My starry blenny always jumps in the vortech when off. I think the pumps should have a slow start mode. This would allow the fish to get out before they become stew.
A slight movement of the blade and the blenny is out of there.
