Hi, I just got notification what we may be getting rolling power outages. Of course, I'm not prepared and am scrambling.

I have the cable that goes from the backup battery to the vortech pump. The question is, while I still have power, do I need a power supply for BOTH my pump and the backup battery separately?

Thank you!!

Yes, normally your pump should have a power supply & the battery backup has a power supply to keep it charged.

When power goes out, the Vortech will draw power from the battery backup instead and run at a reduced power setting to preserve run time.

Ok thank you. Also I have some old mp10 and I currently run mp40. I can't find any information on the power supplies but it seems like those two power supply connectors are not interchangeable? Hoping to just get an adapter..... any idea what connector sizes they are?

Can you clarify what you're asking? Are you wanting to interchange a power supply to plug into something else? If so what?

Not sure on that, they may just have different power requirements. I know the battery backup will work for any of them.
This isn't particularly true, the vectra line requires an inline booster to power them. Although OP didn't suggest he had a vectra, if he/she were to plug straight in, it would result in issues.

I can't find my original power supply for the backup battery - I honestly don't even remember if it came with one.

I have my power supply for my MP40QD and a power supply for an old MP10. The power supply from the MP40QD fits for the battery, but the MP10 does not. I am hoping that I can just find an adapter and use the MP10 power supply for the battery.

Do NOT use the MP40wQD or MP10 power supply for the battery backup. You are going to just fry it. MP40=36v.

The 12v battery backup uses a 14.5v charger. It did come with one. Using a higher voltage will permanently damage the battery.

Oh my. Ok thank you

Don't do that, the power supplies are not interchangeable.

The power supply that came with the battery backup is a 14.5v and the one for the mp10 is 24v. You don't want to put the power supply from the mp10 on the battery backup.

Heres photos of the 2 power supplies...
