Have a 150 tank, 5x2x2

i have an mp60 and an mp40 on the left side of the tank, and an mp60 and an mp40 on the right side.

strictly acro frags at this point, can’t seem to find a flow I like. Notice in the middle it seems to slow down.

if I were to use the gyre mode for all of them, which pumps would I synch or non synch?
Thanks

Don’t you just put the ones on the opposite side in anti-sync mode?

Acros want a constant change in flow. I always did overnight lagoon mode at 20-30% then when lights start ramping up I do a pulse wave mode for a few hours, then when lights are at their peak you crank it up with reef crest, then as the light slow down I go to a slower reef crest and then when lights are off I have the pumps run 50% constant before it goes back to the lagoon mode.

What about mp60's on each side and mp40's on the back wall about 18" inches in from the sides. 60's straight across from each other in anti-sync. 40's whatever flow you want them to run.
Play with the flow then.
No more dead spots in the middle and the 60's are powerful enough on there own.

I have tried this. What I didn’t like is the only height I can place them at , was at the same height as the 60’s going left to right. It seemed the 40/s would do just enough to interfere, reroute , or block the 60/s from getting across.

plus it’s a center over flow, limited to how far away from the 60s I could get

I thought that would be a good thing. Create a nice random flow throughout the whole tank. That's what most corals like, imo.
