Hello I have a 30 gallon cubed tank, I just picked up the Vortech MP10 pump and i’m trying to create a schedule for the circulation / flow . currently i have what i want each hour to be (reef/pulsing,lagoon) but don’t know what % of power to have each one based on the size of my tank.

Basically what i’m asking is , what % should i have each category based on my tank size . i can mess around with it all night but i don’t know what it’s actually suppose to look like . or if one is suppose to be stronger than the other category.

Also if you have a recommendations on which oder/what flow style i should be using for my schedule please suggest something . By styles/category i am referring to the picture added . Thank you for any help!

Welcome to R2R!

This is always going to be tank specific. If you are bare bottom, then you can easily run them at a higher percentage versus having fine sand in the tank that will get blown around.

You will have to play with it, and find that perfect balance. Also know that once your tank starts getting full, your flow requirements will change as well.

Happy Reefing

What are your stocking plans coral wise and as stated earlier sand or bb.

I have a 20gal waterbox cube and run my mp10 at 100% reef crest. But it’s bare bottom and plan to be mostly acros. I have a few acans as well but they’re placed in lower flow spots.

I used to run 2 mp10's in my old 29G biocube. I ran them in reefcrest @ 45%.

But as already stated, every tank is different, you'll have to play with the percentages to find what works for you.
