Hi,

I have a VorTech MP10mQD wavemaker. I have been experimenting with a schedule, and decided to set it to a low constant speed overnight (not sure if this is good or bad long term, but I have no corals yet). Despite setting it at 1% it seems to run at about 25%. Is the actual lowest setting really 25% in practice, or am I missing something?

Thanks.

This was a great thread to stumble upon, I was debating on buying an MP10 for my 3 gallon Pico tank, if the power percentage is not linear then this pump is going to be way overpowered for my tank. Thank you for posting!

Yeah, I can’t really get it below 450 gph.

I would definitely have water flowing over the side of my tank if I installed that pump. I wish they made a smaller version, I’m using the smallest hydor pump but there is zero control. The Nero 3 is way overpowered for my tank as well.

Have you tried a sicce syncra nano pump? It may be too clunky in a 3g but I use it to mix salt in a 5g bucket. It is 110 gph.
