Vortech mp40 wxm and battery backup

Hi all I'm trying to find definitively if when using an mp40 40 and the ecotech marine battery backup (not a diy inverter or ups) and control through an apex via the wxm will the battery backup system during a power outage override the apex programming and put the pump into the power outage 30% mode?

Looking for those with 1st hand experience .

I don't want to put the apex on a ups so it will be effectively off when power goes out.

I don't have first hand experience but hook it up and pull power.

I don't use apex but I would think so since the battery back would have a signal while everything else is off.
