I just replaced my Tunze Stream 6101 with a Vortech MP40W. You can see the wave action with it on pulse mode. With the Tunze controller I wasn't able to get this much waves. Definitely the Tunze is much quieter than that Vortech in pulse mode or at full power. You can hear the hmming the Vortech makes in pulse mode. But in continuous mode setting below 3/4 power setting is quiet. Overall I like it because of the small size of the Vortech compared to the Tunze. If you can stand the hmmming or if your tank is an in-wall then this is a great powerhead. For me I need all the space I can get plus I think my skimmer makes more noise than the Vortech. Enjoy the video.

thats crazy man! Talk about technology. makes my koralias look like crap lol

You actually have a double wave going. If you played around with it more you could probably make even a bigger wave.

That looks awesome! I'm getting MP40 for my 75g this coming week, replacing Koralia's with it. Depending how I like that, I may switch Tunze's in the larger tank with these guys.

I have the same wave, but not as aggressive! I found some of my corals did not like the big waves...

Do you guys have problems with sand being blown around?? I use the sugar sized sand so i'm worried that a there will be a sandstorm.

Got a MP40 in my Solana as well-polyp extension is great. I had minimal sand blowing and once it all got blown around and leveled out there is no more storms. I use short pulse mode though, so it might be different if it was on constant mode.
