I’m bummed out
Came home today to find this...

Mp40 Vortech on the back wall of aquarium was running backwards and sucked in my yellow tang (One Eyed Willy). I had him for over 5 years. My daughter picked it out at the LFS because it only had one eye and she felt bad for it. The owner gave it to us free, he didn’t think he could sell it.

What would make the pump run backwards? I unplugged it, tried resetting it, still running backwards. Bummed out and now starting to get frustrated.

Sorry for your loss :( Have you removed the MP40 off the back wall and reapplied it? She looks pretty dirty, when was it cleaned last?

that fish is really skinny... are you sure it didnt die then get stuck to it?

Judging by where the fish is stuck it may be running backwards. It would be hard to get stuck there going the right direction

I have a small cyano outbreak so it looks dirtier than it really is... but yes took it off cleaned it and now attached it to a piece of acrylic panel to check which direction it’s spinning. Starts right up and runs silently... just backwards.

Yeah, i’m 100% sure it’s running backwards. Removed the fish and my hand got sucked against the front of the pump.
