Hi all,

I'm moving from a 120g tank to a 55g cube (roughly 24x24x24) and would like input from someone who has experience with Vortech pumps in a cube. Would I be better off with 2 MP10's, or 1 MP40? I keep SPS, and currently have Koralias but am ready to make a change.

Thank you!

I would go with 2-3 MP10 instead of a single MP40. 3x would be preferable as you could take advantage of the Ecosmart modes.

I have 2 MP 10s on a 24x24x24 cube. Have them on either side of the back wall, dialed down to about 80% max and all works well. In a cube, a single MP 40 will create a real big flow area and some dead spots. Put the 10s either side of the overflow with one 8" off the bottom and one 4" off the top. Put them in reef crest and let them go. Works for me, but your mileage may vary.

2 10's will be just fine.

I had 2 mp10's on my custom 75 and it was plenty of flow and my tank was 36" x 24" x 20" tall.

Who made your tank zoacoral? I have exactly same size from DSA and love the size. I have one mp40 sitting on one side and two returns from a big pump that I have....love it.

Btw, zoacoral.....got your build thread anywhere? Would love to see how you do your rockscape
