So does anyone have any inside info on whether or not the price of the mp-10's will be coming down in the next year or so??? Seems like a great pump, just not sure if I can justify the current price tag.:squigglemouth:

I got no idea if the price will ever drop but I can tell you that it's worth every penny. I thought the same thing when I first heard about them. Thinking to myself. Are these people crazy selling these pumps at that price?!?!? But as I got more into this hobby I have decided to get 2 mp10w es for my 60 cube and I couldn't be happier. My SPS are happier then they ever have with my k4 evo. I'd say just go for it and see for yourself. I don't think I've come across a person that have tried it and not like it.

We've been carrying Vortechs for awhile and getting them directly from EcoTech. None of their pumps really decreased in price, but did go up when they discontinued the old drivers to ecosmarts. The MP40W was $419 and now the MP40W ES is $455.

$455 is still really a good deal. I've seen them go for a little bit more. I may have to come looking for you when I'm in need of bigger vortechs.

I must say I agree that it is worth the money. I too was questioning these when I was setting my tank up. But the feature set of the vortechs are great, with being able to switch modes, etc. Very clean looking in the tank, no cord inside... I have no complaints with my MP10 in my 34g Solana

I was hesitant and since owning one. Now I'm dying to get another. They are amazing. I love mixing it up with different modes. The flow seems to reach every part of the tank and stir all the junk up. Once my filters clean it up, I reduce it to regular mode. I also love that I can just push a button and start feeding. It would be great if they were less expensive but they are worth every penny.

Vortechs are like tattoos. You want another after the first one!

Just get one - you'll thank yourself later.

Better yet, just get me one and yourself one! I'll thank you now and later. :D

Don't be afraid of the price tag there the best pumps out and the resale is just as good....;) get em bro just do it!!!! Lol I have had them all 10,20,40es and now the 60s man I couldn't be happier....1smile1

I've never had a 10,20,or a 40 but the MP60 is wicked,I don't think any of the reefing equipment on the market is worth what it costs,it's all way over priced......but compared to everything else, the Vortechs aren't too bad....

I just installed a closed loop with an Ocean Motion 4 way and a Reeflo Hammerhead and all that PVC plumbing, and it's awesome but it's moving no more than 5800gph of water and it cost me well over $700 for it....the MP60(less than $700 shipped at most places)will move more water, doesn't take up near as much space,a lot easier to install, and there's absolutely no chance of a pipe leaking, not to mention all the cool features it has......if you do the math on that, the MP60 seems like a bargain :D
