That feeling as you walk down stairs and remember you left the water on...

Accelerate down the stairs.

Really need to get that float valve installed.

Had to remove water to add salt.
:D

I have float valves, but I also have the water source on a timer. I can glance at my ATO bucket or salt mixing bucket every day or two and think to myself "that needs 15 minutes to get topped off" or "the salt mixing bucket is almost empty, I'll turn it on for 4 hours", hit the appropriate button and walk away. If I guess wrong, the float will catch it. I also have the output of the RO T'd off a bunch of times so I have one line going to the mixing bucket, one to the ATO and an 'extra' for when I just need some RO for various other things. The way it's set up, if I open the mixing bucket valve and the ATO valve, it'll fill up the mixing bucket until the float valve shuts it off then start filling the ATO. I didn't set it up like that on purpose, it's just due to gravity and way all the T's are arranged. But it gives me some leeway to over estimate the time and not worry about the float valves ticking off the booster pump if they bounce around a bit.

Having said that, just yesterday I was using that extra line to fill a bucket and it was about an 1/8th of an inch from the top when I checked on it. Got lucky with that one. Of course, if I'm going to spill anything aquarium related, RO water on a concrete basement floor with a nearby floor drain is about the best I can hope for. It's salt water on the carpet I worry about.

PS, I use this valve connected to this timer. Works perfectly. Between a timer on the source water and float valves in the buckets, I feel like I'm pretty well protected from accidents.
