You know….Frozen fish food in the freezer!!!

I’ve recently cut back, nitrates were a bit high. Still in the testing stage.

QUESTION:

1. How often and how many cubes do you give your fish?
Size of tank and number of fish if you want as well.

In my main system of ~220g (multiple tanks) between flat packs and cubes it is probably equivalent of 6 or 7 cubes daily of fish/coral food, plus pellets twice a day and dry coral food once a day.

In the these tanks i have 10 clowns, around a dozen chromis, yellow wrasse, red coris wrasse, melenarus wrasse, 2x sixline wrasse, and powder brown tang.

Any adverse affects? Have you increased or decreased at any time?

I have increased significantly over time. It seems the more i feed my fish or my coral the better the coral looks and faster it grows. The fish are fat and presumably happy, but honestly i am sure they get much more than they need and its mostly about the coral for me. I have an approximately ~20g refugium section for cheato and harvest about 3/4 of a 5g bucket worth a week. Also an oversized skimmer. Nutrients stay very low. Seems every few months they start bottoming out and I have to start feeding even more to keep them up.

I guess I could've added more detail to mine... so I use a decent skimmer and I also have about a 12g refugium that quickly grows chaeto. My nitrates usually stay less than 5 and recently I've been having to occasionally dose to keep them above 2. My phosphates stay between .05-.10

I'm fairly new to having a refugium but I am now a firm believer in using one to reduce nutrient levels. I also have a fairly deep sand bed which probably helps as well.

Thanks for the info. Looks like that’s really working well for you. A bucket of cheato! Wow
