Waiting on skimmer replacement. Is aeration needed for the fish?

I'm assuming so. Bought a pump just need to get hose for it. Will the fish be OK for a few days with just water circulation?

Gas exchange happens at the water surface, as long as you have surface aggitation you should be fine.

I do. Nice to know. I'm still going to get more air in the sump just in case.

Test your dissolved oxygen. You might be surprised at how much surface agitation it takes to match a single air stone.
