Alright, baffles were baffled, piping was piped, lights were lighted, valves were valved, skimmers were skimmed.
I think I'm at the point of commissioning my new sump (15 gallons of fresh saltwater being mixed right now).
How do I go about this without making a mess? Should have plenty of overflow capacity in the sump as compared to the tank, so I'm thinking fully open gate valve to start and then tune it down from there...

29g display
20L sump with ~11g of running capacity
Eshopps PF-300 overflow
1" PVC from overflow to nylon sock in skimmer chamber via gate valve
Jebao DCS 2000 pump
3/4" vinyl tubing to HOB return
RO SSS110 skimmer broken in with vinegar/water (just to complete the list)
This is a rough preliminary design sketch of the sump before downsizing my skimmer, and thus, the skimmer section, so expect volume to be closer to 11g than the indicated 11.5g.

Just make sure you have plenty of extra water ready.....doesn't matter how much water I have mixed, every sump I have ever turned on ended up using more water than anticipated.
