I have a wall hammer that is about 12 inches long. On the very edge this morning when I was doing a water change I noticed about 1/2 inch on the very edge it was showing skeleton. How do I frag it if it starts to spread? Since it is one piece and not a branching will it spread? Doind water test right now. Should I dip it?

I had that happen to one years ago and it just grew up and left a notch at that point.
I lost mine years later when it spawned. A few months after releasing eggs it died.
If it looks healthy with no brown jelly at the edge, I would just wait and see.

it could spread especially if it is a bacterial infection (brown jelly) or it got stung by another coral...I would keep an eye on it to see if you see any signs of impending infection and if so you could try a dip (doesn't always work) or frag it with a band saw making sure to frag off all the infected flesh and then doing 5-10 minute iodine dip

Well I have to go to church this morning so I decided to dremel it "without letting it get hot". Then I dipped it for 15 minutes. Fingers crossed.
