Complete enclosed and away from the elements. Oh guess it could be called something else in different locations. Haha maybe storage room is a better word?

As long as it is climate controlled and out of any bright direct lighting that would contribute to algae and other undesirable growths inside the housings it should be good. Mine is in my garage which is also insulated, heated and cooled and stays dark most of the time.
