Can anyone shed light on what's going on with one of my WDs? It has been doing great, but just started looking like this yesterday.

looks like could be 2 things. You had an alk swing that caused burnt tips. or that frag
next to it touched it accidentally when you didnt notice and stung it. just my guess.

Looks like new growth with a touch of alkalinity burn. I wouldn’t freak out just yet, I have a hard bonsai that does that. The polyps at the very tips look bleached but it appears to be just the way the light hits it during the light cycle. Once the whites go off it looks normal. My Disney frag has been basing out like yours and started shooting up. It looked like yours and then darkened up again.

You can see that my Disney is actually in lower par than my bonsai at about 250 par vs the 300+ where the bonsai is. It’s more pronounced after a feeding.

Have you had any sort of stress events recently? I can't quite tell, but it looks like there are small strings coming off of the fuzzy spot. Could be mesenterial filaments.
I have some acros that do that when feeding as well.

This has happened to me before and I have found it to be either a small pieces of broke off anemone tenticals or torch floating around and land in that spot
