Wanna help me stock my 75? :)

Hey everyone,

So right now I have a 75 mixed reef. My plan is to keep sps, lps, and softies, but mostly focus on the softies, acan gardens and zoa gardens. I also want to keep my first clam (wish me luck) . So to the real question. I have been trying to figure out my fish list, and lately I have been thinking about trying to go outside my previous usual. Right now I have a pair of oscellaris clowns and a yellow tang. I'd really like a wrasse, and maybe a couple more unusual smaller fish. I don't want to make the bioload too high. I am just looking for some interesting ideas from you guys! Here is the tank as it is right now .

Tank looks good! You have a lot of nice rock work, perfect for a pistol shrimp/goby pair. I have a pair and they are very neat to watch! I also love the new ruby red scooter blenny. I just got my male in last week and he is doing great! As for wrasses, they are one of my favorite type of fish! I have a 5 bar mystery wrasse now and love his swim patterns and constant movement. They are very active and always come up to you in the tank. Wrasses on the whole are good tank mates for you others and the colors and variety are unmatched! Some fetch a pretty price tag, but many are reasonable and multiple speices can be kept, tho caution should be taken when keeping similar colored or same species. You could keep two or 3 different male wrasses along with the goby and scooter blenny. Round it out with a cleaner shrimp, fire shrimp, and a few crabs or an urchin and you have an ecosystem of color and movement. Good luck and happy reefing

My Ruby Red Blenny in my 6 gallon fluval edge nano reef. Hes been eating cyclopze and new life spectrum .5mm sinking pellet.

Hey thanks for the ideas! That ruby red is gorgeous! I had a goby and pistol shrimp pair once. I loved them. I forgot to say I added a cleaner shrimp yesterday as well! I also have a sand sifting star, as well as a typical CC (blues, nassarius', turbos, ceriths) . I'd really like to get a blue tuxedo urchin again. I had one once that was killer. I think I am definitely going to look into getting a ruby red.

Is the Ruby Red a type of dragonet? It looks like it.

Its actually a new species that they have not ID'd exactly. They are similar to botht the dragonet and the scooter blenny. every store/wholesaler has them listed slightly differently. They are still fetching a higher price tag for such a small fish, mine would retail for $80-$100 at 1.5"-2". It is a deepwater fish and has actually proven to be pretty hardy. Males and females are distinguishable as well.

Wrasses are definitely some of my favorite fish out there. Here are some of the ideas I am thinking about:

Cirrhilabrus solorensis - Red Head Solon
Paracheilinus lineopunctatus - Linespot Flasher
Macropharyngodon kuiteri - Kuiter's Leopard

Cirrhilabrus solorensis - Red Head Solon - Can be a bit aggressive with other Fairy/Flasher Wrasses. If added, add last.
Paracheilinus lineopunctatus - Linespot Flasher - Perfect addition, add it first!
Macropharyngodon kuiteri - Kuiter's Leopard - If you are not experienced with the care of Leopard Wrasses, you will want to do a lot of reading. They are not an easy genus to get acclimated into your tank. They will also compete with other pod hunters such as Dragonettes, so that should be avoided.

Also, your tank needs to be covered 100% if it isn't. Ideally by 1/4" mesh.
