Has anyone kept a goldflake angel in a mixed reef? I've heard they are a "safer choice" for a large angel in a reef, and I know there are exceptions to all rules. Any insight would be appreciated.

Most all angels are hit or miss. They could be safe for the longest time and then bam, one day they develop a taste for your lps...

Thats what I'm afraid of. I'm an LPS kinda guy and I'd hate to spend the money on an LPS kinda fish. I'd be willing to take the chance if I hear more good than bad from my fellow reefers here.

def hit or miss with sps, long term not safe with lps and zoas. I had a adult regal in my sps and clam reef, no problems at all. Loss him after a tank crash and move. Bought another regal that was a juvie, this one picks on everything!!! I also have a imperator that hasnt touched a thing.

No problem with my goldflake angel in a mixed reef. I have acans and zoas. The fish has been in my tank for 4 months and over a year in the previous owner's tank.
