So admittedly it's not the best build thread I haven't really laid out a plan as others seem to do so I'll try to catch up now. Hopefully I can take a lunch break from work and run a few errands and pick up some supplies. T5 bulbs is one item on the list and I like the more white look. From the back thinking blue plus, purple plus, aquablue special, blue plus. LEDs can wait. Still need to get a controller and I'm thinking of the GHL profilux light or maybe the profilux mini 4 to add pH and temperature.
I don't have much in the way of rock except maybe 3 extra large base pieces on order coming from addictive reef keeping and after that I'll hit up my LFS. I've heard shipping is very slow so well see when it arrives. They also sell a reef safe dye which I'm very interested in using to tint my rock gray. Something different.
For fish here is what I tentatively have planned.
- 3 banggia cardinal fish
- 6 line wrasse
- Black cap basslet or gramma
- 2 watchmen goby
- tangs (so hard to choose... yellow eye kole spotted from Hawaii is one, I really like the white cheek tang and clown tang is my all time favorite but I believe the clown might outgrow my tank not sure on that)
- An angel. I had a French gray angel growing up with an awesome personality that I'm kind of nostalgic about but I also like the rock beauty and I don't have much in the way of yellow.
FIinally I'm on the fence about what direction to take my tank meaning FOWLR or eventually dabble with corals but I do like the narrow lined puffer a lot. We'll see is a bit overwhelming to nail anything down and fish / coral / plants are all so beautiful.
The sump is 75 gallons and it's fairly full so I'll have a large first chamber for macro algae and i want to do a a DSB in the second with maybe a few mangroves maybe some red gracillaria. My skimmer recirculates back into the first chamber so hopefully with all this natural filtration I can get some version of the triton method working for me.
Thanks for following along!
