Want a simple, safe overflow plan.

I'm planning a 40g build and want to use a glass holes overflow kit. It only has one drilled hole in the overflow with an air tube coming out of the top. The simplicity appeals to me, and I've heard they're not too loud. Is this a good plan?

I know a lot of people who use their boxes and swear by them. I haven't used one personally but have seen a few running. They are quiet and reliable when set up correctly.
