Hey all. Been meaning to add a tang to my 150, but I'm wary due to thier aggression, I've had tangs not tolerate any new fish and kill them. Which would be the least aggressive tang ? I currently have clowns , and wrasses and one dottyback. Please give me some suggestions.

A kole or tomini tang are the less aggressive ones And a acclimation box would help a lot for aggressive

A tang won't bother wrasses, dottybacks, or clowns. Other tangs, butterflies, rabbits, angels are possible problems.

Any tang that can fit in a 150 would be fine:

Yellow
Purple
Scopas
Lavender
Convict (I've read)
Any Ctenochaetus (bristletooth genus) besides Chevron.

Which one are you thinking?

I know they wont bother what's in my tank now, I'm thinking for the future, I've had tangs get uber aggressive with the new fish I added. And as to which I would want I want a sailfin and achillies tang.

I'd suggest a convict. I have a yellow, purple, powder blue, desjardini, blue hippo... I've kept a yellow eye kole and convict for awhile, those 2 seemed the least aggressive.

Lavender, Kole(and its cousins), and convict are the most peaceful that will fit.

The Naso spp I've been around are gentle giants, but they get too big.

I wouldn't recommend either of the sailfin tangs. They get huge, and aggressive after they're no longer juveniles.

Achilles could possibly work, especially if the tank is 6' with lots of space and flow. They are not easy to keep though.

I would definitely go with the Tomini, Kole, Gold Rim or Orange Shoulder Tangs. They have a docile disposition compared to most other Tangs. Be careful as to when you add a Tang to your tank as well as if they are better as sole individuals or as a schooling Tang better as a pair or greater. Also, do your research as to what kinds of Tangs are compatible with each other as not every Tang will coexist with same species or body types.

Of all tangs I've had over the years the most peaceful have been naso(which would be a hair big for you) tennenti, and lavendar.
I presently have a lavendar and this and my previous tennenti are by far my favorite tangs to keep based on personality, and both do get pretty under good lighting and proper feeding and have relaxed to new tank

My new favorite tang is the Atlantic tang. It’s small not aggressive and a great algae eater. Naso tang are very calm friendly fish.

I love my lieutenant tang

Yes, and for those that don't know same tang, tennenti/lieutenant, and I see labeled as both, just lieutenant sounds more militant than the fish's personality deserves IMO!lol Though I get it, shoulder stripes as an adult.
They are really pretty and colorful as juvies, later they get blue grey w/ the shoulder stripes, but still pretty colors and nice outlining colors

Here's my tennenti/lieutenant as a juvy

Same fish as an adult

Tangs are a great addition to any reef! (Depending On tank size of course)

I have a freckle-face tang and he’s probably the nicest fish in my tank
