My alk was getting dangerously low so I posted, asking how to fix it. I was advised to get soda ash from BRS and raise it slowly over a few days. This worked great. Once I had it at 9 dkh I tested it 24 hours later and it went down 0.5 dkh. I used the calculator on BRS and it said to raise KH by 0.5 I need to dose 49.5 ml of the soda ash. I rounded to 50 and waited 20 minutes and it was back up to 9 dkh so I assume that I had it right.

Now that I figured that out I went ahead and bought an auto doser. I chose the Hygger 4 pump doser because it was 67 bucks and seemed easy to calibrate and setup. It absolutely was and so far, I recommend it highly. It has the option to set it to go off 24 times a day. I set it to do 10 ml five times a day at roughly 5 hour intervals. I have seen it go off twice now so it is working. I secured it to a shelf above the sump and have it dosing directly into the return chamber. It is tied down with a zip tie so there is no chance of it falling into the sump. And I did check the level to make sure the device was level. The reservoir for the soda ash is sitting on the same table that the sump sits on so it is located below the auto doser.

Does this all sound right? Would you do something different? Am I missing anything?

It looks good from my view point. Just remember to test often when you start dosing then when you are convinced it is files in set a scheduled testing time. Good luck bro.
