So let me start with how I got here had a terrible byropsis outbreak in my small zoa tank after fighting it for weeks I opted to go for the nuclear option so I dosed tank with fluconzole and bam byropsis dead now the problem I’m having is my nitrates are so low from the water changes now the colony of of sunburst zoas has been closed up tight for over a week. I fear I may be losing them. I wanted to move them to my big reef I have enough room on my zoa rock for them to fit but I fear I might just transfer the byropsis to the big tank. I’m open to any suggestions maybe dipping them in something before I transfer or just hope and pray that they pull through. Thanks in advance.

Just feed the tank some coral food to get nitrates up.

I’ve been over feeding fish and coral food for about 4 days and still nitrates won’t climb over 5ppm it’s driving me nuts I get 1-2 ppm in the morning and then test again when I get home have 4-5 rinse lather repeat I’m starting to lose my mind lol the tank ran at 15-20 and everyone was happy and growing like weeds the colony went from 10polyps to over 20 in a couple months. I do have some small patches of cyano growing I wonder if it’s up taking all my nitrates. I suck it out every night but it keeps coming back.

I dont think you should stress or do anything. They're not melting, they're not dying, they just look upset. They can be retracted into little nubs (much worse than what yours looks like) for months, and still make a comeback. Just let your nitrates raise naturally and let it adjust.
