I have a 7.5g cube with an aquaclear HOB 70 and ATO. Lps/softy
Ph- 7.6
Alk-120ppm/7 dkh
Calcium- NA testing soon
12% WC weekly
No alternate light cycle or macro algae. Tiny apartment with lots of CO2 I'm guessing.
I've just begun stocking the tank with coral on the slow side. (1 trumpet and some zoas)
I'd like to start adding kalk to try and gain some stability right from the get go and buff up my RO .Of course I would run daily alk/calc tests to try and pinpoint the amount but it would be the first time I use the stuff. Is using kalk on such a small tank common? Uncommon? My reservoir is a 5g and with such a low demand I would imagine it would be a tiny dose. I want to hit a sweet spot with my itty bitty tank but with no scrubbers, macro, skimmers, sumps or dosers, my params are on the weak side and that's having just begun stocking. Any thoughts?
