Want to waste $99.00

If you all want to waste $99 on automatic feeder from apex Neptune systems I would highly suggest that you think twice before purchasing this product . The one I had didn't even last a year from the purchase date . It was returned to the manufacturer all underneath the warranty period..I was told it was due to water damage Neptune systems quoted me to fix it for $50 .. how water would've gotten into the automatic feeder I have no idea !! it never has been dropped in the tank nor has it been exposed to water other than the evaporation which comes off the tank so if this product is completely sealed then there should be no way for water to enter the mechanical part or the circuitboard ....after a go around with Neptune systems I've vowed never to buy another one of their products as long as I'm in the hobby.. My advice... everybody else use caution when buying this feeder ....so if you want to be $99 lighter and with no feeder please think twice just one more company that does not stand behind their warranties

For an auto pellet/flake food feeder I feel good with the Eheim.

Haha your post is confusing. I am looking to waste 100$ but then you say not to purchase it? So it's not a waste? But then you talk about how bad it is so... I'm guess you meant to suggest that I do buy it if I'm looking to waste 100$?

Isaaclaves maybe I should give the eheim feeder a try ....may last longer than a year how long have you owned yours....I never thought of live food with a dose . I probably could use it for fresh hatched brine shrimp bet the fish would love it

Has anybody had the same problems with there apex auto feeder ,or am I the only one ?? Sorry rock - lobster I didn't mean to confuse anyone by my post just suggesting to us caution.....there has been so many wonderful people on this site that have helped me grow and make reef keeping that much more injoyable...so to save others the heartache and save them $99

I just started to use the eheim feeder and it is easy to use. And much cheaper than the Apex controlled one. I got them on sale and I probably could have got three for the price of the Apex unit.

I have my AFS sitting on the top of my tank 1" above the water and have had my AFS for almost three years now. I have not had an issue with it. (Knock On Wood)

What I have done to protech the electronics was the I mounted the AFS.

I mounted the AFS to have the front slightly lower then the back of the AFS. The reasoning behind this was I saw my fish get exited that is was feeding time and started splashing the AFS. Knowing that the PCB is at the rear of the AFS any water that gets splashed on/in the AFS it leaning forward has the water drain back into the aquarium not towards the electronic in the back.

Jonmos75 maybe one of my fish could have splashed it ...if that was the case I wished I thought of pitching the auto feeder keeping water out..when it worked it was nice seeing I work long hours..
andys i probably would have paid more if I never had to add food LOL
