I have one Ocellaris clown that is about 2 inches long. I want to add one more Ocellaris clown in hopes they will form a bonded pair.
What size should I look for? I've read to try to get a smaller clown or juvi.
I'm guessing mine is a female since it is a single clown & 2 inches long. But correct me if I'm wrong.
But @ what size does an Ocellaris start to sexually mature/transition to an adult? What is the juvenile size range?
Thanks for any advice.

You should be fine with adding another clown as long as they are similar sizes. They will change male to female which one is more dominant and tending on which one the larger is.

^No. Females do not revert back to male, they will fight.

To ensure a pr, introduce as small a specimen as possible. Preferably from a tank with other clowns so not getting a female will be easier.

Gender is not a function of size, but rather social situations.

Ah - thank you! I will follow your advice! Quick question- I live in a area that is not close to LFS that carry saltwater fish. 2 Quick questions --
Can your recommend an reputable online souce I could order a clown ( as you describe -a small specimen from a tank with other clowns)?
Would my clown be just as healthy single OR do clowns thrive more in pairs?

Clowns don't need a mate to thrive.

Any of the 'known' suppliers will work. Just use the comments section to specify what you are looking for.
