That's an idea but I would continue to frag till it workouts so you can trade or sell although its sad to lose a frag technically you are not losing anything as mother colony is doing good.

Yes I do not like to lose frags. I may use the 15k kessil over the frag rack and see how that works. The rack is smoke so it wouldn't pas much light to tank if it were right over it. HMM may have to try

Me personally I wouldn't get rid of the original colony. Do you have a trusted lfs that would grow out the drags for you or would take them right after dragging and give you credit as they sell

I have one about an hour away. May have to get with them and see if they will do that. I think they give store credit but it is better than nothing. There is a small one about 30 min away but they don't do a lot of coral, and I don't think they carry any sps mainly softies and lower light stuff. Just got done bayer dipping the new zoa and iodine dip. Hopefully they be open later and I can get pics.

Not so great pics

They are supposed to be smoldering cauldrons, when I saw them I had to have them. Pretty large colony like 4" x 4". I have some more that haven't opened yet hopefully today.

Ok so today Im expecting my macro to arrive. Go to mailbox not there so I look on the porch before work just out of curiosity. Well guess what it had been there since yesterday. Om my in this heat how dumb could I be. Didn't even cross my mind to look on porch. Well I unpacked it and acclimated quickly rinsed with fresh saltwater hoping it will survive. The coral smoothie was also in there so im hoping it will also be ok. It says to refrigerate after opening so it should be ok. A little upset I didn't even think about it yesterday.

I'm surprised they didn't make you sign for it. How is everything doing? These are some amazing animals that can take a beating sometimes

Well It looks ok tonight after sitting in tank today. I just hate that I didn't get to acclimate it as I usually would also didn't get to inspect for pest or dip it. Did rinse it well though so hopefully all will be ok. The red algae was little white on tips but I think that is normal for it being out of light for 2 days. I will know in a day or 2. He for sure sends a good amount, I will use him again for sure. I think I will have enough for now. Now if I can just grow it out and beat this algae in tank. I thought about a scrubber again but I really didn't like that method and I never saw that I removed anything when cleaning it. Phosphate just kept climbing in tank and I was feeding very little and had a good size ats for a 40 cube think it was a 6"x8".

I know but It kept climbing got all the way up to .26 before I broke the tank down. Iwas changing like 5 gallons water a day cleaning the scrubber weekly. I had ran biopellets on the tank before that, maybe that had something to do with it too

Wow, maybe I have never used biopellets. Was the algae growing fast or was it dying. Did you have any macros at the time?

Here is the macro as of today it looks ok so far
