Wanting to dabble in AF

Hey all,

So I am looking to dabble into some AF for my mixed reef tank. Right now I am dosing two part bulk and acropower.

I am not looking to switch into the salt yet but I could get a good deal on these:
Aquaforest AF Amino Mix 10ml
Aquaforest AF Energy 10ml
Aquaforest AF Build 10ml
Aquaforest AF Vitality 10ml
Aquaforest ProBioS 10ml

I was thinking I could start with these guys slowly and not all at once to see how they work in my system. What are everyones thoughts on running just these on the tank? At this time my SPS corals are not doing great but my LPS and clams are happy as can be.

Hey Ashr,

I have all the products you mention (plus a few more).

I am using Pro Bio S along with NP Pro to bring down my nitrates, and am not using the Amino due to my nitrates being over 5ppm. That being said I am using the Energy, Build and Vitality and am slowly ramping the dosage up. Currently I dose the Energy and Build once per week on the same day and then Vitality once per week as well 2 days later.

I also dose a blend or coral foods later in the week (Reef Roids/Coral Frenzy/Reef Chili) also at a reduced rate.


Seeing as your nutrients are lower than mine you could probably dose on more days than me and add the Amino, and depending on your stocking level start with a 1/4-1/2 dose and evaluate.
