Oh yeah, don't blame you. That's exactly how I got involved. Had a 75g Cichlid tank and picked up a 90g established reef for $400 on craigslist. Like most everyone in this list i'd recommend shooting for 90g as a first reef tank size. It just seems to be a good "goldilocks" size.

Wow thats a great price!

Just an update everyone, I got a 90g Oceanic reef tank from RugDog yesterday, you can see it on a newer thread. I ordered a reef light off of Ebay that should be in soon. So the last thing on the checklist will be a protein skimmer. RugDog mentioned the ASM G3 with a sedra 5000 pump. I have a couple on ebay that I'm looking at, but if there is anyone on the thread that has a skimmer that they'd like to part with, please PM me. Thanks!

the G3 would be a great choice. I just put one on my 120. It took a while to break in but it's a scum sucker now. I bought mine used. You can find some great deals on the used equipment threads. I got mine off of reef central if you can't find one here. I've also found a lot of good used stuff off of Atlanta reef club. Me personally, I try to stay clear of eBay and buy off the forums. I ll keep my eye out for you one.

I found a guy on craigslist selling his whole setup for $500 and he had a reef octopus 110int included. So i got the skimmer for $100 and its only a year old. So im pretty happy. I will probably have to get a bigger skimmer eventually, but i couldnt pass that up :)
