Wanting to get Zoas

I’m planning to get some zoas because my FOWLR tank seems to be in prime condition for some soft corals but i’m not sure if i have the right lighting i have a very low maintenance tank:
heater, filter, Aqueon 29 gallon, Aqueon Flourecent hood(standard white light)

and i’m wondering if a normal white light will grow some zoas

while white light can support certain, it is best to provide spectrums for both color and growth. Im assuming this is a non-reef ready tank with the basics. If so, best as fish Only setting.

You can try it out with the cheapest zoa's you can find, but its very unlikely the light will keep them alive

really? i was planning on changing lights but i don’t know how that will affect my fish

The fish will be fine just don't blast them with 100% if the lights are adjustable, but I would wait on the zoas until you get the light upgrade.

While this tank is very basic with Hang on Power filters and lighting, zoas that should work well are:
Dragon eyes
Fire and ice
watermelon
(most other green ones)

Assure good flow is provided as well as water quality monitored by reliable test kits as they dont do well in tanks where both nitrate and phosphate are elevated.
