I've had a war coral for about a year and is now about 2 inches. A coral frag fell on it a month ago and now it has a transparent whitish film around the original wound that wraps around a portion of the coral. The film has a few air bubbles under it and the eyes of coral under film can't open.when I feed coral the eyes outside film open and catch food. Is there anything I can use to treat this or should I leave it alone?

I did dip in sea chem reef dip last night. I wasn't sure if using baster would be good or bad but might try it.

If there are signs of necrosis, you should remove the necrotic tissue before it spreads.

The white band actually go around middle of coral. Above and below band look normal. Have only been keeping corals for about a year. How would you remove it?

Here it is. Hopefully pic is good enough. I was able to tilt coral so air bubbles could come out of small hole in film.

Has that holds to the right of the frag been in the tissue long? It really looks like one of those little funky crabs that like to burrow.

Not that I'm aware of. When I had the coral out yesterday to dip it just looked like a hole in the film. Ill have to pay more attention to it, but I haven't seen any crabs in the tank.

i didn't know that war corals get necrosis. i have a bi color one I got from somebody, a big piece. about 4 x 5 inches. anyway, it was continuing to grow after I put it in my system. then it started to lose it's just gained growth. now it's getting more and more loss of tissue. I did a revive+luigos dip today. i hope this help. anybody with ideas of what caused this to start or what I can do to treat it?

Do the water parameters look okay? Any nearby corals stinging the war coral?
