Thanks in advance. Just picked up this war coral. Looks to be in decent shape. Was 40$.. so took a gamble on it, were some other peices that were nicer in the favite family but still picked this 1. Anyway.. does it look good? Its grown a couple "spikes", normal?also dont know if the whitish/greenish lines in between some heads is normal or signs of distress. Also top left has a spot that has some tissue loss it seems like. I know with proper care, anything can come back nice. Any input would be great..

It looks good to me!! The spikes off to the sides might be vermetid snails though it’s hard for me to tell. If they are, they will bother the coral

MiNE seems to enjoy med flow and med-high par. Every tank has its own story's. I'd feed it some coral max mixed with some coral amino acids. See if you can get that color to come back. Could be morphing due to stress. Change in water condition's it took mine about a month to really like my water conditions compared to the Lfs. As was on a totally different internal clock compared to mine. I started mine out in low par. I'm talking corner of tank low par.

Thank you for the response guys. I have it on sand bed, it will be on the lower rockwork is my plan. Now the spikes! If it is snails, it definitly encrusted around them. Not sure how i woukd handle that if they were in fact snails. Ill have to take a better pic when the lights are on. Phone never picks up what i see, it always darkens and turns purple in photos.
