I got my new skimmer today that I am going to be using on my 40 breeder. It is a HOB model, and at $300 retail it is on the higher priced side of HOB's. I received the skimmer today, so I will have a much better idea of what the skimmer performs like in a few weeks. However I would like to share my initial impressions of it :nerd:

Here it is, just after unpacking it...

The build quality is excellent on the entire unit. It is acrylic of course, and everything looks very nice and polished. The skimmer that I received is the actual skimmer that Jon Warner has been taking pics of for promotional purposes, I ended up getting the skimmer directly from him, which was cool. Set-up was a breeze, and at this point we are making some bubbles:xd:

Having the H1, I can tell you this will be 2x more than you need on the 40 br! Even the H1 could handle a fully stocked 40 breeder..

The H2 is a great skimmer. Runs like a champ and pulls out some really stinky skimmate. The only gripe I have with it is there isn't any surface skimming attachment, which does hurt it's performance somewhat.
