Hi

Just picked up this fella, he was purchased as a Warty Frogfish but I’m not sure on this ID. I’ve got a Warty and I’ve owned them in the past but this guy seems more reminiscent of a Painted going by his colouring, however I know trying to ID a Frogfish buy it’s colour is not accurate.

What do you think?

Thanks.

I am by no stretch an expert on these guys, but I just wanted to say he's super cute either way and bump this up for you so someone who knows sees it

Top Photo is Fergus, my new fish.

Bottom right is Crowley a fish I’ve had about 6 months

Bottom left is Rhino, he lived over six years.

It is a warty, I mean the warts are a dead giveaway, that is why they call them wartskin anglers. The coloring is also classic warty from my experience.
