This is my latest adventure. Hope to bring g home tomorrow or Monday. They say he's already eating frozen myosis. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. He's going in a 34 gal by himself.

Welcome! anglers are cool guys. If he is already eating frozen then the biggest battle is already over. Just keep his water clean and the food coming and he will be a happy warty for you.

Thanks! Really excited and a lot nervous. Such a cool lil guy. My lfs is making sure he's eating well before I take him home

I have been tempted to pick up the same fish from my LFS for a mixed reef tank but he is only eating live foods at the moment

Well. Just got him home. Acclimating. Oh my goodness it's so cute he's trying so hard to get out of the bag and get into the rocks.

If you are dedicated to getting them on frozen it doesnt take much work to get them there.

You would think so but I have a tank with some pretty aggressive feeders.....they pull food out of the turkey baster while trying to feed coral. My Flame Hawk has went as far as to jump into the dixie cup while putting Mysis into the tank lol.

Thats why you feed the aggressive first, then you feed the slower or less aggressive fish. Plus, i would hope that you wouldnt have anything else in a tank with a angler. Thats going to spell disaster for anything else in the tank.

I don't know about your aggressive fish, but there is no such thing as feeding my slower fish after feeding my aggressive feeders....the aggressive feeders never seem to stop eating lol. You make a good point about the Angler not going into a mixed tank though. It can (and has been) be done as long as the other fish are at least twice the size of the Angler....unfortunately the Anglers grow pretty quick.

Yes. Anglers should be tank specific. No other fish should be in there. If your mixing fish that are bigger then a angler id hope it was in a very large tank and then that brings up a whole new set of problems.

Well, I haven't been able to get him to eat since brought home. Broke down n got some ghost shrimp. He ate one so I hope to keep up the progress and get him on frozen soon
