And freaking bubble algea. After JUST finishing a fight with hair algea.. But, it's okay! Just one small spot.. I'll take it out and.. There's a crap ton on the back of it. So now that rock is out, as I can't even get into all the crevices to remove hardly any of it. Only good part is I don't see it anywhere else, for now.

My biggest concern is, will my tank be okay without that rock in there? Unsure how many pounds are in it, but I still have three big pieces, and one small piece, this piece was the second smallest, probably weighed a bit over 7-10 lbs fresh out of water. My bioload is small, two clowns and one starry blenny, none are full grown. 36 gal tank.

My other concern.. The rock I took out had never been moved since it was put there, tank is roughly 8 months old. I just did about a 7 - 7.5 gal water change, other than sand I didn't see hardly anything come out when I moved the rock, my lfs opens in 12 hours, I plan to go straight there, buy 10 gal of water for another water change (and to clean the sand bed) should my tank be okay for the night?

Also attached a picture of my tank with the piece missing. Pardon the ugliness, I wanted to move more around but was afraid of doing too much at once.

I wouldn’t remove all your rock work just because of bubble algae. I would add everything back in before you have a huge ammonia spike and everything dies

It was just one piece, I'd say 80% of it is still in the tank. Should I put it back? It's currently in a bucket of dirty tank water.

Edit: also my ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates were all at zero, I have trouble keeping nutrients in my tank.

my experience with bubble algae hasnt been bad - 1 emerald crab took care of them all

I use to have one, until it went Rouge on my toadstool. :(

How much do you feed? It's possible that you're not feeding enough if you can't keep nutrients. That also may have been why the emerald (who will absolutely take care of bubble algae) decided to go rogue.

I feed every day, two clowns, one blenny, roughly 3/4 a cube of frozen, but sometimes just a half. And I know he ate, I'd hand feed him too.

I agree.. I dont think you will have any problems with the one rock out.. I remove BIG chunks of my rocks when coral needs to be fragged or sell the whole rock. You should be fine :)

I wouldn't be too concerned and moving the rock out is no worries at all.

You can manually removed bubble algae that you can see. The spores are inside the ball though so best to do it with a small tube while changing water. Put the tube next to the bubble and pluck the bubble whole sucking it out. Then stop the siphon and move to next bubble.

The one time I had bubble algae breakout I siphoned and it went away.

Of all the algaes bubble is very low on my concern list. Some people have horror stories with it but I've never seen it as much of a problem.

Probably is.. It's all in crevacies I can't really get it out, to reuse it I think I'll have to legit wash it off, because it's in there deep.

Really? That does make me feel better. Plus.. I kinda like it out, as I wanted to make a better spot for my elegance which this would provide.
