How come there are no VHO fixtures around? I have actually never seen one. There are PC, MH, T5, but never seen a VHO.
I have always wanted one. Anyone know where to buy fixture shells? I had seen a site that sells reef lighting, a generic company, that also sold shells, but I can't remember the name of it. Somehting along the lines of Odyssea but not them.

I have a brand new Hamilton 36" fixture FS. It holds 4 bulbs that can be turned on 2 at a time. PM me if you're intrested. Ill sell it 1/2 off...

I Think Custom Sea Life Use To Make One And Hamilton Did But Other That That They Are All Do It Your Self Plus T5s Have Kinda Took The Place Of Vhos Vho I Think Is On Its Way To Be Phased Out

I think VHO's still have their place for use in the hobby. I've used both IceCap retro VHO's and T-5's on my systems. I grew tired of having to try and cool the T-5 bulbs. I've burned out so many that I've gone back to VHO's as a more reliable source of actinic supplementation on my tanks.

Im Putting Vhos On The 120 Im Building And Everyone Is Laughing At Me Ask Why Are You Not Putting These Great New And Better T5 On It Well Because I Dont Wont To lol I Was Just Saying Most People Now Are For Some Reason Going To T5

Is in not harder to type by capitalizing every word. Is that just your thing. And I know my grammar sucks but Could you toss some periods in there so your post are more easy to read.

Back in the day, canopies were used on nearly all reef tanks. The VHO fixtures were not necessary, the individual components for VHO were installed directly within the canopy and typically the ballasts were installed remotely (near or within the stand).
