Went to feed the fish in the QT today and my Watanabei Angelfish has an injury to her forehead - what should I treat with to prevent an infection?

Wow - I wonder how that happened, it looks pretty severe, may already be infected. What are you dosing with currently? Is the ammonia level near zero? Do you have any antibiotics on hand?

Same here must have run into something overnight - ammonia at zero. Not dosing anything yet only been less than a week in the tank. I've got metroplex, kanaplex erythromycin, api gen cure, and Maracyn on hand

Picking an antibiotic is always a guess. In this case, I would dose kanaplex and Maracyn (which is erythromycin). If you want to be a bit more conservative, go with just the kanaplex.

Getting worse today - one eye is getting cloudy. Hit the tank with both kanaplex and erythromycin and will continue treatment this week. Hope she can hold on.
