Watch those dosing lines folks

I just dealt with a similar issue with my AWC lines. I have been running this system for several years with zero issues. All of a sudden I noticed my tank going down fast. Turns out I trusted the stability of the system to much. I check salinaty a couple times a month and it hardly moves.

My in line for new salt water clogged but my drain line continued to work so I was removing water with out replacement. The ATO was filling my tank with RO water and my salinity dropped to 1.020 from 1.026 in a couple weeks. Turns out my 50+ feet of 1/4" line was nearly filled with deposits. Quite the joy to clean out.

In retrospect I should have known all the gunk on the bottom of the 55 gal barrel would eventually clog my lines
You just gave me another whole thing to worry about ;)

Didn't even think about the AWC lines.

Time to stop doing water changes.

Crappy part for me is most of my lines run in conduit under my patio so pulling them out and hoping I can replace them is not my first choice. I'll be running citric acid through them once a year from now on.

Mine are 6 inches down inside a concrete slab which was laid under the new room that houses the fish tank.

It's 1/4 inch tube inside a 1 inch conduit so maybe I can replace it.
But there are 3 of them so it's gonna be tricky. All or nothing I fear.

Going on 8 years since it was laid so now or never.

840ml a day???

Crickey, I'm going nuts trying to keep up with 200ml a day.

How much water do you remove each day to keep the salinity stable or do you just make manual adjustments?

Seems like a lot... but my tank is a 1900 liter tank (gross, probably around 1650-1700 liters net) full of SPS.

I have an AWC system that currently changes 1% of the water a day, 150 times during the day. The salinity in general remains rock solid. When I do notice a salinity change, I know it's time to maintain and recalibrate the AWC pumps (Spectrapure system).
