Watchman and pistol won’t pair!

I bought a pistol shrimp last weekend and he dug his massive hole in my tank and made a giant smoke bomb but when I was at the fish store they sold the fish I reserved but anyway I got my watchman yesterday and every time the watchman tried to go check out the hole the pistol dug the pistol makes this loud snapping noise that sounds like when you pop your Nicole underwater. What should I do. Will they ever pair?

They may or may not.

There is no law of nature saying they have to pair, as said above they will either pair up or they wont, nothing you can do to make them pair up.

Mine took a while to finally pair. A good month maybe month and a half before I noticed the pairing.

My pistol and goby were young. The pistol shrimp was only about 3/4inch long . I’m not sure on whether the again affects anything. I’m just sharing my experience with my pistol and goby. Hope they pair up! It’s awesome watching them together

I have one paired now but it did take probably about two months for it to happen, and I had to keep fishing the shrimp out of the sump in my AIO weekly until they finally did pair

Yea my pistol is the size of my pointer finger. Yea me too I really hope they pair up. It scared me the first time I heard that click I freaked out and checked the seams on the tank but it was him. Lol

That’s awesome my little guy is so small still. It’s been about 5 months since I’ve had the pair . They both are doing great! Very shy though . At first they wouldn’t come out if you were near the tank but now they are getting more comfortable and I catch them out a lot more
