I had a tiger pistol that paired immediately with my YWG and it was really cool to watch the 2 of them interact. Unfortunately the pistol wrecked havoc on my tank - digging everywhere, upending corals, etc. So I traded him in at my LFS for a Randall's pistol, much smaller and more manageable for my 30G tank. As soon as I introduced him he made a little cave for himself and now he just stays in there and doesn't go anywhere so he hasn't met up with the YWG. He doesn't dig, he doesn't do anything. Just stays in his little cave. Has this happened to anyone else? Will he eventually move around and find the goby? Should I disturb his cave and force him to move around? TIA

Never Force, is it a Randall's pistol shrimp or Gobie. If it's a shrimp give them some time & they may hook up. Pistol shrimp don't have good eye sight so it may not even know the YWG is even in the tank.

I've had the same experience. Tiger pistols are just much more bold than randalls. Like you I never see my Randalls. The Randalls was paired with a hi fin goby till I lost him. I got a tangaroa goby hoping they would find each other but no luck yet.

My Randall's could care less about my hi-fin. Never paired.
