Hi,

I have a 39 gallon tank with a screen that has a .25 inch x .25 gap on 2 corners. They are notches we’re made to pass through very small hoses or cables (I barely use them).

I purchased 3 watchman gobies and have found all of them on the floor dried up the very next day. Is it really possible that each one has crawled up the corner of the tank and figured out how to jump in though one of the two small openings? Or should I start questioning the kids to see if they are messing with the tank ? Or is it magic?

Magic, or maybe some kind of mysterious innate ability to be able to jump through 1" gaps on lids. Its really unbelievable how they can do it.

I know this is an old thread but I’ve had my watchman goby a couple of weeks and he hasn’t really shown any attempts to get out. Well I just took the lid off my tank to target feed him. He didn’t want any food, turned to do something else and saw a flash of yellow in the corner of my eye and him flapping about on the laminate floor. I scooped him up and put him back in the tank. Hopefully he will be ok.
